Columbia meth dealer arrested

Brandon Wathan

The Columbia Police Department announced the recent arrest of a local man for dealing methamphetamine.

Police said that on March 28, Brandon Wathan, 39, of Columbia, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service on St. Clair County arrest warrants for three counts of unlawful delivery of meth, one count of possession with intent to deliver meth, and one count of meth possession.

These charges stem from controlled deliveries conducted with Wathan and a subsequent search of his residence in late 2023, police said.

Columbia Police Chief Jason Donjon commended all law enforcement agencies involved with this case, including the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois (of which a CPD officer is assigned), the CPD and its investigators, and also the Illinois State Police.

Wathan has a previous battery conviction in Monroe County from 2020.
