2016 CHS Soccer Team

The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Columbia High School soccer team coached by Jason Mathenia.

The Eagles are off to an 11-0-1 start to the season following a 1-0 win over rival Gibault last week and three wins so far this week in the CYC Tournament.

The Eagles topped Trinity Catholic, 6-1, on Monday, won 2-0 over Farmington on Tuesday, and won 2-0 over Clayton on Wednesday to reach Friday’s semifinal round.

Columbia has allowed just one goal all season.

Corey is the editor of the Republic-Times. He has worked at the newspaper since 2004, and currently resides in Columbia. He is also the principal singer-songwriter and plays guitar in St. Louis area country-rock band The Trophy Mules.
