Columbia fire department was called out at 1:18 p.m. to assist St. Louis county and multiple other agencies with a tractor trailer fire, which has reportedly closed I-55 in both directions between I-270 and Meramec Bottom Road.

The 3-alarm fire was fought by multiple area fire departments, and Hazmat crews were called to the scene.

MODOT estimates the road will be opened again at 4:30 p.m.
