Columbia Cheerleading | Team of the Week
The Columbia High School cheerleading squad is this week’s Republic-Times Team of the Week.
After winning the last three years in the IHSA small team division, Columbia participated in the medium team division this year. The result was the same, as CHS won with an overall score of 90.92 — just edging second place Lemont (90.80).
A parade welcoming home the state champion cheerleaders took place around 6 p.m. Saturday from the Columbia fire station on Main Street.
CHS has also won three straight ICCA titles.
Members of this year’s CHS cheerleading squad are Hannah Longust, Caitie Clasquin, Rachel McWhorter, Emma Marsoun, Ali Venegoni, Sophia Walters, Alaina Meyer, Eden Peters, Chloe Alexander, Hannah Walters, Lexi Grabe, Wyndi Frisch, Kristen Grosze, Taylor Allen, Jordan Peters, Rachel Ratajczyk, Amanda Yochum, Daisia Hunter, Alyssa Hunsaker, Tony LaFata, Bailey Bradshaw, Jae Schaffer and Jess Raney. The team is coached by Robbie Walters.
