The Monroe County Tournament champions, the Columbia High School boys golf team, is this week’s Republic-Times Team of the Week.

The Eagles have had a great season so far, especially with their victory in the Monroe County Championship Sept. 5. The boys took first place with a group score of 157, and claimed first and fourth places for individual awards. Michael Barker, who coach Tom Detmer has said is one of the best players in the area, took home the first place individual trophy with a score of 37.

Detmer said he has been pleased with the scores so far, especially the Monroe County Championship and the team’s score of 144 at Governor’s Run Golf Course recently.
