The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia High School volleyball player Colene Hamilton.

The junior outside hitter has already made her mark on the season in the first two matches for the 2-0 Eagles, recording 11 kills and nine points against Alton on Aug. 24, followed by 14 kills in the home opener against Althoff on Aug. 27.

Corey is the editor of the Republic-Times. He has worked at the newspaper since 2004, and currently resides in Columbia. He is also the principal singer-songwriter and plays guitar in St. Louis area country-rock band The Trophy Mules.
