Coleman moved to Wisconsin prison

The Illinois Department of Corrections announced last week it has moved convicted triple-murderer Chris Coleman from the Pontiac Correctional Center to a maximum security prison outside of the state.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported late Friday that Coleman was transferred last Wednesday to the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisc., citing his father, the Rev. Ronald Coleman of Chester.

Chris Coleman was convicted in May of murdering his wife Sheri and young sons Garett and Gavin inside the family’s Columbia home back in 2009.

The IDOC first disclosed in June its plans to move Coleman as part of an interstate agreement that allows prisoners in high-profile cases to be transferred for safety and security reasons.

Coleman is appealing his murder conviction.
