CHS Eagles softball, Team of the Week

This week’s Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Columbia High School softball team, which defeated Waterloo in the regional final on Saturday, 3-2. The Eagles are the last local spring sports team standing, and beat Highland Thursday in the Class 3A Centralia Sectional, 3-1, to advance to play Saturday in the sectional final against Centralia. Corey is the editor of the Republic-Times. He has worked at the newspaper since 2004, and currently resides in Columbia. He is also the principal singer-songwriter and plays guitar in St. Louis area country-rock band The Trophy Mules.
