The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Columbia High School varsity boys golf squad coached by Nate Leingang. The Eagles posted a pair of match wins last week. On Aug. 19, Columbia defeated Breese Central by six strokes with a team score of 156. Brendan Gibson was Columbia’s top golfer with a nine-hole score of 36, which placed first overall. On Aug. 22, Columbia defeated Belleville East by 22 strokes with a team score of 157. Jacob Hall led the Eagles with a 35, which was first place overall.
