The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Caroline Stratman from the Waterloo Lead Heads youth shooting team.

Stratman won Junior High Lady Handicap Champion as well as eighth place overall during the Amateur Trapshooting Association Academics, Integrity and Marksmanship National Championships at the World Shooting and Recreational Center in Sparta, which took place July 31-Aug. 2.

At the Scholastic Clay Target Program national competition July 11-16 in Ohio, Stratman captured third place in the Singles Trap Lady Varsity division, finishing just one target behind the winner. (submitted photo)
