CHS running back Camren Shewfelt is this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week.

The 5’9″ senior scored a game-high three TDs in the rival showdown on Friday at Waterloo. He completed the gridiron battle with 87 yards on 26 carries.

“Cam Shewfelt was outstanding on offense. He really got some tough yards for us running the ball and scored all three touchdowns,” Horner said. “Our line was able to give him a few seams and he ran the ball with an attitude.”

Shewfelt leads the team with three touchdowns through the team’s two games this season. He is the Eagles’ (2-0) leading rusher averaging 3.3 yards-per-carry.

Columbia will face Dupo (0-2) at home on Friday.

Congrats Camren, keep up the good work!
