The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School track standout Cameron Crump. The junior runner is off to a fast start this spring with two recent wins. At the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Indoor Invitational on March 2, Crump won the 3,200 meter run with a personal record time of 11:28.17. On March 9, Crump won the 1,600 meter run during the Jersey Winter Thaw at Principia College in Elsah with a time of 5:22.44 – nine seconds faster than the next runner.
