The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Cal Kossina of the Millstadt VFW team in the Mon-Clair League.

The lefthanded hitting second baseman is hitting .459 this season, good for fourth in the league.

Kossina, a recent graduate of Belleville West High School, will play next season at Southwestern Illinois College.
