This week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia softball player Caitlyn Touchette. She started postseason play with a bang on Wednesday, smacking three home runs with eight RBIs in a 16-1 win over Althoff in the Class 3A Columbia Regional. Touchette, a junior who plays third base for the Eagles (31-2), also went 3-for-3 in the team’s final regular season game May 20 against Civic Memorial. She hit two home runs against Althoff on May 9.
