Budnick acquires KC company

Budnick Converting, a specialty tape and foam materials converter located in Columbia, announced effective July 1 the asset purchase of Evans EVCO, a privately held materials fabricator and distributor headquartered in Kansas City, Mo.

The merger brings together two companies with complementary capabilities, cultures and commitment to customer service.

“We are excited to join forces with the exceptional team at Evans EVCO. This acquisition is an opportunity to strengthen our position in key markets, including aerospace and electronics, enhance our customer support, and create more opportunity for our combined workforce,” said Christy Hornacek, co-owner of Budnick Converting.

The merger provides both Budnick Converting and Evans EVCO customers with expanded product offerings, added services, and wider geographic coverage. Customers will eventually benefit from an even more reliable supply chain, the companies said.

“I wanted to make sure the situation was right for our loyal customers and associates. Budnick was definitely the right fit. We’ll be able to offer more adhesive tape and foam brands with expanded converting capabilities. We look forward to utilizing our combined capabilities to provide comprehensive solutions,” said Steve Shockey, Owner of Evans EVCO.

To ensure a smooth transition, Shockey will remain in a consulting role during the transition.
