Brush fire off Route 3 south of Columbia

The Columbia and Waterloo fire departments responded to an out-of-control brush fire in the area of Asselmeier Estates Drive and Route 3 south of Columbia about 4:05 p.m. Friday.
A wooded sinkhole area was on fire near Route 3. The fire was extinguished by about 4:45 p.m.
