Brendan C. McKeown

Brendan C. McKeown, 78, of Waterloo, died Nov. 23, 2012, in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Holywood County Down, Ireland, son of the late John and Rosena McKeown (nee Bunting).

He was married to Flora McKeown (nee Ballard).

Mr. McKeown was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Waterloo, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife; children Karen (Clay) Broussard, and Steve (Mary) McKeown; grandchildren Sean and Michelle McKeown; step-children Cheryl (Larry) Champa, William (Jackie) Mygatt, and Debbie (Don) Ries; six step-grandchildren; brother Joe (Maureen) McKeown; and sisters Patricia Sweeney and Ita (Dick) McKee; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

A memorial  Mass will be Dec. 1, at SS. Peter and Paul Church, Waterloo, Father Ronald J. Weber officiating.
