Box truck crashes in Columbia

A large Penske box truck tipped onto its side during a crash that occurred shortly after 3:35 p.m. Tuesday on the Route 158 ramp to southbound Route 3 in Columbia, resulting in two injuries.

The Columbia Fire Department responded to the scene for extrication. An ARCH Air Medical Services helicopter was initially requested for emergency transport of the seriously injured male driver, identified as Chrishaune Wells, 35, of St. Louis, but Columbia EMS opted to transport the driver by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County.

A passenger, Jeremy R. Wallace, 37, of Hazelwood, Mo., was also transported to Mercy South for treatment of minor injuries.
