Bob J. McGee

Bob J. McGee,  82,  of Columbia, died Oct. 4, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, St. Louis.

He was born Sept. 4, 1934, in Columbus, Ky., son of the late Omar and Sadie Elizabeth McGee (nee Childers).

Mr. McGee formerly worked at Obear Nester Glass Plant in East St. Louis and retired from Turley Martin Maintance Company in St. Louis.

Surviving are his children Elaine (Les) Simmons of Waterloo, Susan (Larry) Spihlmann of Mansfield, Texas, and Linda (Howard) Martin of Columbia; brother Bill McGee of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren Christa (Jerrod), Jenni (Geoff), Brian, Cody (Nicole), Corey (Liz), Lindsay (Casey); eight great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce (Ron) Hastings of Granite City, Diane (Glenn) Royal of Seabreak, Texas, and Liz Upchurch of Columbia; and special friend Retha McGee. He was also a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is Oct. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Braun Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, Jim McGee officiating.

Interment will follow at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia.
