Betty L. Haven | Obituary

Betty L. (nee Hubbs) Haven, 90, of Dupo, IL, died on Jan. 9, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville. She was born June 11, 1934, in Iron Mountain, Mo.

Betty was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, East Carondelet. She enjoyed going antiquing, relaxing with a good book or sitting down to work on a crossword puzzle in her free time. Betty also took enjoyment in traveling, as well as decorating and doing crafts. Her most treasured time was spent with her family, and she was devoted to helping family and friends in any way she could.  Betty also had a fun-loving, mischievous side and, much like her grandmother, was always up for an adventure.

Surviving are her children Joe (Patti) Haven III, Jan Schneider and Michelle Haven; grandchildren Joseph (Michelle) Haven IV, Daniel Haven, Andrew (Amber) Haven, Mekenzie (Brad) Schneider and Zachary (Jennifer) Haven; great-grandchildren, Noah, Tristan, Joe V, Miles, Arthur, Eicher, Samuel, Jonah, Lucy, Riley, Finn and Addison; sister Anna DePew; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Joseph D. Haven Jr.; son Timothy Haven; parents Harvey and Lucille (nee West) Hubbs; and siblings Harvey “Ozzie” Hubbs, Tommy Hubbs and Art Hubbs.

Visitation is 10-11:30 a.m. Jan. 20 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, East Carondelet. 

A funeral service will follow visitation at the church with Pastor Ralph Laufer officiating.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, East Carondelet.
