Waterloo High School basketball player Ben Huels is this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week.

The junior leads the Bulldogs in scoring at 15.4 points per game, including a team-high 18 points on Friday in a win at Civic Memorial and 22 points in Monday’s regional win against Freeburg at Columbia. Huels is also averaging nearly two steals per game.
