The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School soccer player Ben Huels, who scored two goals in Waterloo’s 4-0 win to open the season over Gibault at home on Monday. He added another goal in Tuesday’s 5-0 win over Belleville East on Tuesday. Huels joined the Bulldogs this fall after having played at the academy level previously.
