Basement fire in Valmeyer

The Valmeyer Fire Department responded about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday to a fire in the basement at 115 E. Hunters Ridge.
A responding police officer reported to emergency dispatch that the fire was quickly extinguished with a garden hose, but the fire department was still requested to assess the scene.
