Devon Noel Barber of Hamel, formerly of Valmeyer, and Nicholas Petroff of Hamel, have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Harold Barber and Desiree Aaron-Barber of West Frankfort, formerly of Valmeyer. She is a graduate of Valmeyer High School and Southwestern Illinois College with an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement. She is employed with the state of Illinois.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Keith and Ginger Behrhorst of Hamel and the late Donald Petroff. He is a graduate of Edwardsville High School and L’École Cullinaire. He is employed as a executive chef.

The couple are planning an Oct. 23, 2015, wedding.
