The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia High School junior Avery Arendell. The girls golfer placed 19th at the IHSA Class 1A state golf tournament this past weekend at Red Tail Run in Decatur. She shot an 18-hole score of 77 on Friday, followed by an 85 on Saturday. This was Arendell’s third straight year of qualifying for state.
