The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia High School sophomore Avery Arendell. She won the 2023 Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division individual title last week with an 18-hole score of 75. Last year, Arendell placed 49th overall for the Eagles in the IHSA Class 1A state golf tournament at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur with a 36-hole score of 174.
