Self-inflicted shooting death in Waterloo

The Waterloo Police Department was called to the scene of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot fatality on Lakeview Drive that was reported shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday.
An Illinois State Police crime scene unit and the Monroe County coroner’s office were requested to respond to the scene.
The deceased was later identified as 64-year-old Ruth Neusel.
