A prestigious Waterloo golf course recently received another ace in the hole via a top 10 ranking on a national website.

Golfpass.com recently ranked its “Top 50 U.S. Public Golf Courses,” with Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo coming in at No. 8.

The site compiles all reviews on its Golfers’ Choice list – nearly 300,000 such reviews were submitted in 2023.

In order to be eligible for this list, Golfpass.com states that a golf course must be accessible to the public and receive at least 10 reviews over the previous year.

In determining final rankings for the year, factors for consideration include overall rating, value, conditions, layout, pace of play, staff friendliness and off-course amenities.

With Annbriar’s listing as the eighth best public golf course in the U.S. was the following comment:

“Annbriar is a top notch golf course. An excellent course to play your fall/winter golf. The course is beautiful with dormant fairway zoysia grass contrasting with the lush green grass of the rough. The greens are in outstanding shape. There was nothing to complain about at this course. One of the best in the St. Louis metro area.”

In operation since 1993, Annbriar has earned a 4.5 star rating from Golf Digest. The course covers 226 acres and during the summer, 700,000 gallons of water per day are used for irrigation.
