The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School basketball standout Alex Stell. The 6-foot-10 senior is averaging 23.2 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.56 blocks per game this season for the Bulldogs, who were 7-2 entering a Tuesday contest against Freeburg. Stell scored a season-high 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win this past Saturday at Gibault. He has recorded a double-double in every game so far this season.
