A. Thomas Walter

A. Thomas Walter, 101, of Waterloo, died Aug. 10, 2013, in Belleville.

He was born Sept. 7, 1911, in Lenzburg, son of the late Henry and Lena Walter (nee Frech).

He was married to the late Irene K. Walter (nee Scher).

Mr. Walter was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Morris Lodge AF&AM #787 Waterloo, Scottish Rite and Shrine.

Survivors include his daughter Sharon Quernheim; grandchildren Todd (Tracy) Quernheim and Sheila (Job) Sandoval; great-grandchildren Alexander, Benjamin and Andrew Quernheim, and Tyler and Shane Sandoval; and sister Ruth Becker; along with nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law Paul A. Quernheim, and sisters Fern Adamson and Violet Newman.

Visitation and funeral services were Aug. 13, at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo, Pastor Matt Friz officiating.

Interment followed at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.
