The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Valmeyer High School softball standout Brooke Miller. The freshman pitcher/outfielder led the Pirates in hitting this spring at .437 with three home runs, 28 runs and eight stolen bases. She was also 8-2 as a pitcher with a 2.25 ERA as Valmeyer (14-6) won its first ever regional championship.
