Motorcycle crash in Prairie du Rocher

Emergency personnel responded about 7:30 p.m. Sunday to a motorcycle crash in Prairie du Rocher.

The Prairie du Rocher Fire Department, MedStar Ambulance, Randolph County Sheriff’s Department and ARCH Air Medical Services all responded to the scene.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said a 2006 Victory motorcycle driven by John Church, 61, of West Alton, Mo., was traveling northwest on Bluff Road about 520 feet northwest of Modoc Road when it went off the roadway to the right and continued more than 125 feet before striking a wooden utility pole.

Church was airlifted to Saint Louis University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The extent of injuries for a passenger on the motorcycle, Manuel Haller, 56, of Caseyville, was not known by police.
