Eleanor Luella Garcia

Eleanor Luella Garcia (nee Arndt), 89, of Waterloo, died Jan. 2, 2013, in Waterloo.

She was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Black Jack, Mo., daughter of the late Harold Gustav and Caroline Louise Arndt (nee Meier).

She was married to Louis Garcia; he survives her.

Mrs. Garcia was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo, Waterloo Chamber of Commerce, Belleville Board of Realtors (past president), and Waterloo School Board.

Survivors include her son Bryan (fiancée Barbara Ries) Garcia; loving sisters-in-law Anna Hesse, Olga (Hank) Davis, and Geraldine Bedwell; and her loving and faithful companion Sugar; along with loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was Jan. 4, at Quernheim Funeral Home, and Jan. 5, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo.

Funeral services were Jan. 5, at the church, Pastor Keith Karau and Dr. Phil Silsby officiating.

Interment followed at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.

Memorials may be made to American Parkinson’s Disease Association at the Washington University School of Medicine.
