Alicia Eckart, daughter of Marvin and Sandy Eckart of Red Bud, is engaged to Tyler Blanchett, son of Ron Blanchett or Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Sue Ellen and Drew Grounds of Oakridge, N.C.

The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Red Bud High School, a 2005 graduate of Southwestern Illinois College, and a 2008 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. She is employed at Executive Woods Dental Care in Swansea as a dental hygienist.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2005 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, and a 2009 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in aviation management. He is employed by Aero Charter in Chesterfield, Mo., as a charter pilot.

The couple are planning an Aug. 24, 2013, wedding.
