Death investigation in Waterloo
The death of a 32-year-old man Friday evening in Waterloo is under investigation.
The Waterloo Police Department and Monroe County EMS responded to a residence at 317 W. Mill Street shortly after 7 p.m., after the man was found unresponsive in a bathtub.
CPR was administered by neighbors and Monroe County EMS, and the Monroe County Coroner’s Office was requested after CPR was unsuccessful.
The Monroe County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Dustin Gross, 32, of Waterloo.
An autopsy was conducted Saturday morning, Monroe County Coroner Bob Hill said, with results of the autopsy and toxicology testing pending at this time.
The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit responded to assist in the investigation, which is ongoing.
