Columbia School Board, ROE at odds
The Columbia School Board discussed a number of issues at its January meeting on Thursday, many of them charged.
The Republic-Times has already reported on most of those topics, but a new one that came up was the district’s health/life safety survey.
The survey is one school districts are required to complete every 10 years for their buildings to identify any potential Health/Life Safety Code violations and how to remedy them.
There are three types of items listed on the report that is part of the survey: urgent needs that must be completed within one year because they pose an immediate threat to safety; required needs that are necessary for a safe environment but do not present as much of an immediate safety threat and must be completed within five years; and recommended items that do not pose an immediate threat.
