Figure 8 race thrills fairgoers

The annual Figure 8 race and truck demolition derby again drew a strong crowd to the Monroe County Fair grandstands in Waterloo on Wednesday night.

In the Figure 8 small car category, first place went to Jarret Huebner of Waterloo. He outlasted second place winner Pete Dehn of Waterloo, with Aaron Cheek of Ruma placing third.

In the Figure 8 large car category, Jeremy Robert won the top trophy, beating out second place finisher Dylan Allscheid. Brian Allscheid placed third.

In the small truck demo derby, a pair of Lutmans duked it out for top honors until the end. First place went to Davey Lutman Jr., with Glen Lutman III placing second and Devin Propst placing third.
