Police are investigating after a pickup truck reported stolen out of Randolph County was discovered upside down in a rural St. Clair County creek late Monday afternoon.

At about 4:30 p.m., the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash in the area of Winter Road and Schmoll Road south of Lenzburg.

After being removed from the creek, no one was found inside the Ford F-150 pickup. As a precaution, the Marissa Fire Department searched the creek and bank for anyone that may have been ejected or swam to shore and were injured.

“No one was found during these searches,” St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Bruce Fleshren said. “There is no indication at this time that anyone is missing or remains missing at the scene.”

The truck was reported stolen in Randolph County earlier in the day.

The crash scene was cleared by 7 p.m. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into the stolen vehicle.
