The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Valmeyer High School volleyball player Guin Kohnz.

She is pictured with the game ball following Thursday’s home match against New Athens.

Kohnz, who leads the team with 127 points and 439 assists this season, recorded her 1,000th career assist on Thursday.
