Dr. DeAnn Clare Bohm | Obituary
Dr. DeAnn Clare Bohm (nee Stumpf), 62, died peacefully Aug. 11, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Charleston, S.C.
She had been in the care of hospice for 1.5 weeks after a brief battle with cancer.
She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Nicole (Nikki) Marie Bohm Neyens; grandsons, Chase Mathew, 7, Lucas Andrew, 3; sister, Dori Eveyn, step-son, Keith Bohm, ex-husband, Gregory F. Bohm, who has been very supportive,
She is also survived by a beloved dog, Jackson, along with many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stefan Mathias Bohm; parents, Clarence W. and Eva G. Stumpf (nee Huch); grandparents, Phillip and Annie Stumpf, John and Mary Huch, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Originally from Monroe County, DeAnn made her home in Satellite Beach, Fla. In fact, in 1970, she was both the Miss Monroe County Fair and was also named Miss Congeniality that year.
Bohm’s real achievements came years later, as she earned her Ph.D. in the male-dominated area of mathematics. Bolm dedicated much of her life to her career, but in later years she pursue her first love — the ocean, where her ashes will be scattered by family upon her cremation.
DeAnn lived her life to the fullest and was a joy to all who love her. Her earthly presence will be sadly missed, but we all look forward to joining her in eternity.
No services are planned.
Memorials may be made to the Charleston Animal Society or to the Holling’s Cancer Center where she received excellent care by Dr. Day’s team.
