Mildred “Millie” Osterhage-Kerens

Mildred “Millie” Osterhage-Kerens, 90, of Sparta, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones July 20, 2016, at the Randolph County Care Center.

Millie was born July 5, 1926, in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Louis H. and Wilhelmina Osterhage (nee Jehling).

Millie and Robert Kerens were united in marriage Feb. 27, 1946, in St. Charles, Mo. Robert preceded her in death on March 2, 2004.

Millie was a past president of the Belleville Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction and past president of Waterloo VFW Post 6504 Auxiliary.

Millie is survived by two daughters, Claudia Kerens of Sparta, and Dana (Robert) Martin of Sparta; one son, Steven Kerens of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren, Scott (Elizabeth) Kerens of Ballwin, Mo., and Sara Kerens of New York City, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Sophia Martin, one sister, three brothers, three step-sisters, one step-brother, and step-mother Wilhelmina Fiedler-Osterhage
Memorial services will be held on Nov. 20, 2016, at the Sparta Country Club.

Interment will be private.

Memorials may be given to the Randolph County Care Center or to Sophie’s Foundation (9 Fairway Drive, Sparta IL 62286).
