The Waterloo High School boys track program brought home some medals from the state meet held over the weekend.

Senior Greysan Moehrs capped off an impressive high school track career by placing sixth at state on Saturday in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.91 seconds.

He also placed sixth in the same event last season.

Moehrs, who holds multiple school track records, will run next season at NCAA Division I Southeastern Louisiana University.

Waterloo’s 4×400-meter relay team of Dawson Holden, Noah Hays, Blake Rusteberg and Jon Kreher joined in the state track fun, placing fifth with a time of 3:23.74.

The state track meet was held at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.

Waterloo freshman Donovan McBride captured one first place finish in the 800 meters and second place finishes at 100, 200 and 400 meters in the wheelchair division.

The state success follows one of the best seasons in school history for WHS boys track, which won the Mississippi Valley Conference title for the first time.

Cahokia won its sixth straight Class 2A state boys track title.

In Class 1A, Dupo’s Antonio Cozart competed at state in the 110-meter high hurdles for the second straight season. He did not advance out of the preliminary round.
