A 39-year-old man was charged this week with one felony count of child pornography in Columbia.

Steven D. Blosser was arrested on March 2 by Columbia police, who executed a search warrant at his residence on Burroughs Road. Blosser knowingly possessed several visual reproductions of a child under the age of 18 engaged in sexual acts with another person, court information alleges.

Blosser was booked in the Monroe County Jail on the charge, posted $5,000 bond and was released with a preliminary hearing set for 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at the Monroe County Courthouse in Waterloo.

In 2008, Blosser’s wife at the time was arrested for felony prostitution and he was also charged with keeping a house of prostitution, a misdemeanor offense, inside their Waterloo home. That charge against Steven Blosser was later dismissed as part of his ex-wife’s guilty plea.
