Vehicle strikes pole in Waterloo

Waterloo police and fire personnel responded shortly after 1 a.m. Friday to a report of a vehicle striking a utility pole in the 500 block of North Moore Street, resulting in a vehicle fire. The subject exited the vehicle safely and was not seriously injured.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, Justin C. McCance, 28, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI in connection with the incident.
