Wednesday afternoon vehicle crashes

There were four vehicle crashes reported within an hour late Wednesday afternoon, none of which resulted in serious injuries.

Columbia police and fire departments, along with Mehlville Fire Department and Dupo EMS, responded just after 5 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a crash on I-255 near the J.B. Bridge. No injuries were reported, but lanes were restricted.

Moments earlier, there was a single-vehicle rollover on EE Road south of Columbia behind the YMCA. EMS was called as a precaution, but no injuries were reported. The vehicle, a Chevy Colorado, was occupied by three female juveniles.

At about 4:30 p.m., Columbia police responded to a crash involving a Gilster-Mary Lee truck and an SUV on Route 3 near West Park Drive.

At about 4 p.m., Waterloo police responded to a crash on Route 3 at Illinois Avenue involving a semi-truck and a school bus. Police said the bus, driven by Carroll Blandford, 74, of Waterloo, was turning left from northbound Route 3 onto Illinois Avenue when it collided with a southbound 2001 Freightliner driven by Frank Rimnac, 35, of Pickneyville. No injuries were reported or citations issued.
