Man injured when tractor overturns near Hecker

Hecker Fire Department and Monroe County EMS personnel responded about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a person trapped under a tractor in the area of 7000 Illinois Route 156 west of Hecker.

Police said the operator of the large tractor, George Gregson Sr., 77, was transported by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment of a broken arm. Gregson’s tractor apparently overturned on a hill, pinning him beneath it.
