John Lee Poetker
John Lee Poetker, 69, of Waterloo, died June 2, 2015, in St. Louis.

He was born Oct. 22, 1945, in Belleville, son of the late John and Martha L. Poetker (nee Brinkmann).

John was a lifelong dairy farmer, member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Paderborn, was the Monroe County Road District #2 clerk for 40 years, and was a member of Dairy Farmers of America, NFO.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters Mary Poetker, David Poetker, Carol (Tom) Noelke, Dale (Alecia) Poetker, Karen (Jim) Vogt, Curt Poetker, and Kevin Poetker; nieces and nephews Jonathan (Pam) Poetker, Andrew (Laura) Noelke, and Victoria and Clint Vogt; great-nieces and great-nephews Akenna, Brexton and Chylee Poetker, Mason Noelke and Madison Hankammer; and aunts, uncles, many friends and relatives.

Visitation will be June 4, from 2 to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, and June 5, from  8 to 10:15 a.m., at the funeral home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated June 5, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Paderborn, Father Stan Konieczny officiating.

Interment will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Waterloo.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Church  in Paderborn.
