This week’s Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Waterloo High School softball squad coached by Matt Mason.

The Bulldogs are off to an 8-0 start, including victories over Belleville East, O’Fallon and Columbia. Waterloo defeated Valmeyer on Friday and won at Columbia on Monday, 9-4, to take this year’s Monroe County Tournament title. On Monday, the Bulldogs blasted Cahokia, 17-0. On Thursday, Waterloo trounced New Athens 13-3.
