Delrose C. Donham | Obituary

Delrose C. Donham nee Barbier, 97 of Columbia, formerly of Belleville and East St. Louis,  died March 21, 2015, in Columbia.

She was born Aug. 27, 1917, in French Village, daughter of the late Louis and Felicite Davinroy (nee Barbier).

She was married to the late Miller Donham for 68 years.

Survivors include children Dennis (Rose) Donham of Wexford, Pa., and Phyllis (Cardon) Lackey of Columbia; grandchildren Michele (Jim) Schwab of Columbia, Stephen (Kim) Lackey of Fenton, Mo., and Matthew Donham of Wexford, Pa.; great-grandchildren Jocee Lackey Hoffman, Tasha Lackey Hoffman, Calvin Lackey and Claire Lackey; niece Marilyn Towler; and nephews Jack Fultz and Edward Barbier. She was also a dear aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend to all.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a disabled daughter, Mildred Kathleen Donham, for whom she lovingly cared for more than 50 years in her home; her brothers Edward (Grace) Barbier and Joseph Barbier; sisters Olivette (Clifford) Fultz and Isabelle Sharleville; and niece Judy Barbier Foster Dotson.

Visitation was March 24, from 4 to 8 p.m., and March 25, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia.

Funeral services were March 25, at the funeral home, Msgr. Carl Scherrer officiating.

Interment followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fairview Heights.

Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Monroe County.
