Columbia Police
Feb. 9
David A. Hall, 33, of St. Louis, was arrested on an in-state warrant in the 1500 block of Anton Drive.
Feb. 13
Charles E. Bailey, 60, of Columbia, was arrested for DUI, no insurance and failure to signal in the 100 block of Country Ridge.
Joseph D. Silva, 23, of Columbia, was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance (heroin, alprazolam) and also for delivery of a controlled substance (heroin), possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at Midwest Petroleum, 1553 N. Main Street. Also arrested in the incident was Kyle D. Wagner, 24, of Red Bud, for possession of a controlled substance (heroin), possession of a hypodermic syringe, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving while license revoked and no insurance.
Feb. 14
A burglary to a locked shed in the 200 block of Micah’s Way is under investigation. The burglary is believed to have occurred between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Friday. A lock to the backyard shed was broken to gain access and a number of tools were stolen. An Illinois State Police crime scene investigator processed the scene for evidence. “We believe the suspect(s) might have parked on Skyline Drive and walked through a wooded area,” Columbia Police Chief Joe Edwards said. Anyone who may have been in the area around that time and observed anything suspicious is asked to call 281-5151.
Feb. 16
Christina J. Davis, 29, of Columbia, was arrested for DUI, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to signal on N. Main Street at Veterans Parkway.
Johnson K. Simmons, 22, of Dupo, was arrested for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Feb. 17
Columbia police, fire and EMS personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Admiral Parkway at Admiral Weinel Boulevard at about 9:20 a.m. The vehicles involved were a blue SUV and an older model silver sedan. One person was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center.
Kelly Shaw Jones, 49, of Columbia, was arrested for domestic battery.
Illinois State Police
Feb. 12
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and Monroe County EMS assisted shortly after 3 p.m. with a vehicle crash involving a semi truck and red Pontiac Grand Am in the area of Route 3 at Klohr-Toen Lane near Waterloo. An injury was reported, per police radio dispatch, but it was believed to be minor in nature.
Feb. 13
Columbia fire and EMS assisted with a crash on I-255 east of the J.B. Bridge at about 2:50 p.m. An 18-year-old female avoided injury after the car she was driving westbound on I-255 left the roadway to avoid another vehicle and crossed the grass median over to the eastbound lanes and into trees. The right lane of I-255 eastbound near the Fish Lake overpass was closed as crews handled the crash, with traffic backed up across the bridge into Missouri.
Monroe County Sheriff
Feb. 13
A 2008 Nissan Sentra driven by a 16-year-old Valmeyer female skidded on loose rocks on Bluff Road near Mitchell Street shortly before 4:30 p.m., overcorrected and lost control, rolling twice. No injuries were reported.
Feb. 14
Courtney Kish of Columbia was arrested on a Monroe County warrant.
St. Clair County Sheriff
Feb. 16
The Columbia Fire Department was called out about 1:10 p.m. to a home in the 7600 area of Wagner Road in rural Millstadt for a fire in a kitchen. Firefighters reported smoke inside the home upon arrival and worked to ventilate the structure. All occupants exited safely.

Feb. 7
Brian Corey, 39, of Columbia, was arrested on a Monroe County failure to appear warrant.
Feb. 11
Sean Sharp, 32, of Nashville, was arrested on Monroe and Pulaski County failure to appear warrants.
Feb. 14
Abby Goudey-Palacios, 30, of Waterloo, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant.
